On the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, we support talented local surfers and accompany them on their path toward greater opportunities, national competitions, and international exposure.
Through mentoring, training, and access to resources, we strengthen the development of young people both in and beyond the water. In 2027 we will add a storytelling program that gives them the tools to share their own stories with the world.

The Docuseries
Olas y Cambio’s documentary series explores how surfing is creating opportunity, building community, and inspiring young people along Nicaragua’s rural coastline. Through intimate, observational storytelling, the series follows lives shaped by the ocean, revealing the ambition, uncertainty, and resilience behind the pursuit of a better future. At its heart is Candelaria Resano, who represented Nicaragua in surfing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. As she balances university studies with training toward Los Angeles 2028, her journey provides a central narrative thread—a deeply personal story of determination, national pride, and the demands of pursuing excellence. Alongside her story, the series profiles other young, up-and-coming surfers inspired by her example. Currently in production, the project is being developed as a documentary miniseries, beginning with a standalone proof-of-concept pilot. Its projected release is November 2028, following the Los Angeles Olympic Games.
